ChatGPT (app)

What a person who is not signed in sees on chatgpt.com, measured through a licensed data provider.

Definition

ChatGPT (app) is how DiscoveredBy measures ChatGPT: it is the only ChatGPT engine. For each tracked prompt, a licensed data provider asks chatgpt.com the prompt in a session that is not signed in and returns the answer the page shows, including any product or local business lists, with the sources it cites in the order they appear. ChatGPT decides for itself whether to search, so some answers cite no sources. Only the prompt, the country and the language are sent: persona and city variants do not run on it. Brand studies ask it too, with the study’s language line added after the question when the study has a language.

Example

For the prompt "best invoicing app for freelancers", ChatGPT (app) records the answer chatgpt.com shows a visitor who is not signed in, including any product list on the page, with the sources it cites in order.
