Track how Perplexity talks about your brand
How we collect Perplexity
Perplexity
Perplexity’s Sonar API, with the sonar model and a medium search context size.
Included in: Starter, Growth, Pro
What we record for each answer
- Brand mentions and sentiment.
- Citations: only the sources the answer marks, ranked in the order it first cites them, with the text just before each marker saved as the cited passage.
- Every search result Sonar returned, so Retrieved vs cited compares what it found with what it credited.
- Whether each answer used web search.
What to know
- Sonar does not return the text of the searches it ran, so its fan-out reads searches not recorded.
- It reports no shopping, local businesses, ads, video, images or tables, so those read blank, never 0%.
- It is an API output, which can differ from what people see in Perplexity’s own app.
