Track how Grok talks about your brand
How we collect Grok
Grok
xAI’s API with web search, given the target’s location in its search tool’s location fields and in the prompt.
Included in: Growth, Pro
What we record for each answer
- Brand mentions and sentiment.
- The searches it ran behind its answer, and whether it used web search.
- The pages it opened and the sources it listed, compared with the ones its answer credited on Retrieved vs cited.
What to know
- Its individual search results are not exposed, only the pages it opened and the sources it listed.
- Its saved citations include every source its search came across, so Answers citing sources has no value for it.
- It is an API output, which can differ from what people see in Grok’s own app.

- Engines and measurement
The eight AI engines we measure, how we query them (the two Google engines, ChatGPT (app) and Gemini (app) through a licensed data provider), which engines run for your project, how a country or city reaches each one, and how each answer is labelled.
- Retrieved vs cited
See which sources each AI engine returned while answering your prompts and which ones the answer text actually attributed, one collection channel at a time, with a saved-copy drill-down for every URL.
- Metrics defined
Every number in the product, with its exact formula and denominator, including the run metrics of the two Google engines and how often answers cite any source.
